Size Guide

How to measure your pet

A good fit is essential for comfort and effective recovery. Measure your pet, check the size chart below, and choose the right CopperBody suit. Sizing is the same for dogs and cats.

Three measurements, one perfect fit

Dog measuring diagram showing cross, back length, chest circumference behind front legs, and guidance that weight is usually the most accurate measure.
1

Weight

Weigh your pet on a scale. This is the most accurate measure for most breeds.

2

Back length

Measure from the cross (base of the neck / withers) to the start of the tail, following the spine.

3

Chest circumference

Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.

Standard size chart

Applies to Classic, Castration, 4-Legs, and Hind Legs styles. Castration is not available in size 00.

Breed examples are approximate only. Always confirm fit using the pet's measurements.

Front Legs size chart

The Front Legs style uses combined sizes (0/1, 2/3, etc.) because the front-leg pattern spans a wider measurement range per size.

Fit tips

Between sizes? Go up

If your pet falls between two sizes, choose the larger size. A slightly roomier suit is more comfortable than one that is too tight.

Weight is usually best

Weight is the most accurate measure for finding the right size. However, for deep-chested breeds such as Greyhounds, Whippets, and Bulldogs, use chest circumference instead.

Check the fit

The suit should sit snugly but allow you to slide two fingers between the fabric and your pet’s body. It should not restrict movement or breathing.

Leg openings

Make sure the leg openings are not too tight. Your pet should be able to walk, sit, and lie down comfortably without the suit bunching or pulling.
